Welcome to Sugar Mutts Rescue & Skymeadow Farm Sanctuary!

Sugar Mutts Rescue is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), public charity animal rescue organization founded in 2007. Formerly based in Brooklyn, NY as primarily a dog rescue organization, Sugar Mutts relocated in the Spring of 2018 to the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Eastern Pennsylvania. Always hoping to expand and be able to help other types of animals as well, we were lucky enough to be able to acquire our 35 acre farm, now known as Skymeadow Farm Sanctuary, in the Fall of 2019. Here, amidst the beauty of open pastures, expansive sunsets, and the enriching challenges of Mother Nature, we provide rescue and permanent sanctuary for all types of animals. Our mission is funded by our short-term rental cabin/farm stay experience, by providing horse and dog boarding services, and through the kindness and of our donors/supporters.

Sugar Mutts Rescue

Newfoundland, PA

Sugar Mutts Rescue does not believe in breed discrimination and helps dogs of all types, ages, and backgrounds. Our rescue dogs may be owner surrenders, abandoned/found strays, as well as from overrun pounds/shelters with high rates of euthanasia.  We tend to specialize in dog-human match making.  If you are looking to adopt and don’t see the right canine companion on our site, please don’t hesitate to contact us with a bit about what you’re looking for in a dog. There is never a shortage of lovable dogs needing homes and we’d be happy to keep an eye out for the right one for you. You may also want to talk to us about the option of fostering-to-adopt. Fostering is a terrific way to help a dog in need while also helping yourself find the right match.

We have adoptable dogs looking for their forever homes! Read more about each of our available dogs on our Sugar Mutts Rescue landing page.

Skymeadow Farm Sanctuary

Greentown, PA

Skymeadow Farm Sanctuary in Greentown, PA is home to many beloved farm animals.  Our family of paying boarded horses helps enable us to care for the other farm animals we take in.  Our farm sanctuary residents are often surrendered to us by previous owners who can no longer care for them, and some may come from neglectful or unkind circumstances.  Our mission is to help these animals whenever we can, and provide them with a permanent, safe, loving environment for the duration of their lives.  We do not breed them, we do not raise them for food, and we do not consider them lesser than any other sentient being.  Colorful doesn’t even begin to describe the personalities of our little farm sanctuary community!
